Definition

Fleet sales, as it applies to Automotive manufacturers, is generally the sale of many cars to a business through an agreement between the auto maker and the business -- with a discount to the business based on the number of vehicle purchased for its fleet.

For instance a phone company may have a multi-year agreement to purchase 100s of Ram trucks for its service technicians, a cable company may have an agreement to purchase vans for its installation people, or police departments might have an agreement to purchase squad cars for their patrolmen.
