;Purpose
 +
:The purpose of the MoparWiki is very simple, to become the largest repository of Mopar Information -- the best Mopar Encyclopedia, if you will. There are millions of Mopar enthusiasts with both the knowledge required to achieved this lofty goal, and the references to back it up. Information that doesn't list references generally isn't trusted. If we all from time to time collaborate on these Mopar topics -- the MoparWiki will become the best informationbase of Mopar Data.

Purpose
+
:If you've ever visited WikiPedia, this is the same concept -- only specializing in Mopar information. As a matter of fact, we use the exact same software application as Wikipedia. For a professional appearance, we want to follow a consistent format. Please familiarize yourself with the more completed wikis, and follow that format.
The MoparWiki is a wiki that gives MoparStyle members the ability to add to an informationbase on all things Mopar. Information on Makes and Models; history of the Chrysler Corporation and the people associated with it; Technical Papers and Dream Cars; Mopars in Drag Racing, Mopars in Road Racing, and Mopars in NASCAR; and just about anything else having to do with Mopars.

Any Member can start a topic -- and any member can add to and edit the topic to improve it, using the Guidelines. There is a lot of information needing to be added and edited, so if you click a link that is a page needing to be started or needing more information -- please take a few minutes to help -- if you have the information needed.
+
:There is a simple markup language used for formatting the text and links -- but don't let that scare you away. It is not only very simple -- but the Help documentation on this site is excellent. In the furthermost right box below -- there are links to cheat sheets. Keep the appropriate one opened in a different tab -- and you will find you will have the formatting understood in no time. Likewise, we'll be looking for others who a little more familiar with the formatting, to help out and clean up some of the rougher works.

The MoparWiki is bridged with the forums at MoparStyle, using the same membership database. So logging in either here at the MoparWiki or at the Forums will have you logged in at the other place.
+
:No person has to tackle an entire wiki. Collaboration means that you help with the information you have, and others will help with the information they have. No one person will own any work -- as over time a topic is seasoned with more and more information added.

The best place for members to start to play around with the concept of using the simple markup language used to format wiki pages -- is the member's own User page. You will note that at the left side of the Navbar at the top of the page will be your Member handle -- assuming that you are logged in. Click that link and you will be taken to your User Page. An example of an User's page is Old Hippie's User page. If you click the help link in the Navigation Box in the left sidebar, and keep open wiki pages for formatting and links in other tabs to reference as a Cheat Sheet -- you will be able to duplicate something like Old Hippie's in about 30 minutes. Once you've done you User page and familiarize yourself with the proper Help pages to use as a cheat sheet -- you are able to help this wiki by improving the pages with what you know. It is all really very simple.
+
:Please take a look at some of the featured wikis listed below -- and look at some of the wikis we're asking for help on. Any help you give will be appreciated. Don't work about your work being lost to vandalism -- as we can roll back any topic to any point in the past. If you put a substantial bit of work into a topic -- you my want to "watch" it -- to where you are notified of changes.

Once you've got a handle on your user page -- the next thing to do is to start clicking some of the links in the article. If the link is lacking information that you have knowledge of --- then please improve the Wiki page with your contribution. If your additions are Mopar terms or about Mopar People -- then link it so that the Mopar context builds.
+
:Each topic has a history page, where you can see who contributed what -- and they each have a "Talk Page" -- where discussions and disputes are hammered out.

Categories
+
:So won't you please crack whatever reference books you have -- and help collaborate on the Mopar topics?
To make it easier to find the information that you seek, we have arranged all topics to fall into at least one category. The below is a list of categories, and a topic can fall into more than one.

Welcome to MoparWiki
Purpose
The purpose of the MoparWiki is very simple, to become the largest repository of Mopar Information -- the best Mopar Encyclopedia, if you will.
If you've ever visited WikiPedia, this is the same concept -- only specializing in Mopar information. As a matter of fact, we use the exact same software application as Wikipedia. For a professional appearance, we want to follow a consistent format. Please familiarize yourself with the more completed wikis, and follow that format.
There is a simple markup language used for formatting the text and links -- but don't let that scare you away.
No person has to tackle an entire wiki. Collaboration means that you help with the information you have, and others will help with the information they have. No one person will own any work -- as over time a topic is seasoned with more and more information added.
Please take a look at some of the featured wikis listed below -- and look at some of the wikis we're asking for help on. Any help you give will be appreciated. Don't work about your work being lost to vandalism -- as we can roll back any topic to any point in the past. If you put a substantial bit of work into a topic -- you my want to "watch" it -- to where you are notified of changes.
Each topic has a history page, where you can see who contributed what -- and they each have a "Talk Page" -- where discussions and disputes are hammered out.
So won't you please crack whatever reference books you have -- and help collaborate on the Mopar topics?

How You Can Help
MoparStyle Members
MoparStyle Members are authorized to edit the pages. Your same log-in to post in the forums, or post free classified ads, will also allow you to edit the wikis. As a matter of fact, each MoparStyle member has his own user page -- which is the best place for them to start with getting a feel for the mark-up text for formatting.
If you are not already a MoparStyle member -- we invite you to go to the forums and register to post. It is quick, free, and MoparStyle is the best damn Mopar community on the Internet.
Research and Editing Needed
Every member of MoparStyle can help somewhere with making the MoparWiki the best Mopar Encyclopedia. Please spend a little time when available to help others looking for answers.
Please Preview Before Saving
It would be a very big help if you would use the Preview more often than the save -- and then use the save only after you are done editing and checking with preview. It helps the editors to look at the updates -0- and roll back if necessary.
Talk Pages
If you challenge the accuracy of the information in a topic -- but can't absolutely back it up with a reference citation -- then use the talk page, so others can find a reference to settle the challenge. Likewise -- if you don't feel comfortable editing the topic itself -- but you feel like you have some valuable information that someone else will find useful when they tackle the topic -- post it in the talk page for the topic.
