In 1967, [[Plymouth]] introduced the GTX as the [[Belvedere]] GTX and shared its grille with the [[Satellite]].  The GTX eventually became a standalone model although in 1971, the GTX would cease to be a standalone model.

The base engine was the [[Super Commando]] 440 that made 375 [[horsepower]] at 4,600 [[RPM]] and 480 lbs-ft. of torgue at 3,200 RPM.  The only other option for the engine was the 426 "[[Street Hemi]]," which made 425 horsepower and 490 lbs-foot of torque.  The "Street Hemi" was available through order code 73 annd added $564 to the base price.
