Pro Mod stand for Professional modified. It is a class of drag racing slotted somewhere between Pro Stock and Funny Car. The door slammer bodies of the tube chassis cars are more like Pro Stock cars, with operating doors, a fire wall, and the driver to the left of center, but the handling and power are more similar to Funny Car.
